It’s Time to Profit

I know, you’re thinking … finally! Yes, it’s definitely a paradigm shift from traditional marketing. It used to be, “Let’s sell something and then we’ll connect with our customers.” Today, it’s, “Let’s connect with our potential customers and, in time, make them an offer.” So, let’s get started…

Your First Sale

What is your first sale? It might not be what you think. Your first sale is something that they’ll trade their name and valid email address for so you can further connect with them. It’s called an opt-in offer.

Let me explain… your actual goal is to build a BIG LIST of people that have come to know, like and trust you. It will become your most prized asset. With this list, you can continue to give them value, continue to connect with them personally, and periodically market to them. As long as the ratio of value received vs offers made is significantly weighted to the side of value, nobody will mind the offers. In fact, people will appreciate them as you’ve become a trusted agent and your offers are solutions in a category of their interest (your passion). Many affiliate marketers say, “The money is in your list.” Some go further to claim, “A targeted email list is where the real riches are.”

So, what can you offer them that would be worth trading their name and valid email address? Often it is a “How To…” item in the form of a report, ebook, video series, etc. Typically, it’s something digital (immediate gratification) and something that helps them to do or to understand. In my case, I offered this 5 day online video series teaching you How to Live Your Passion. Was it a good value for the price?

Various Monetization Methods

1. Sell your own product or service (including coaching/consulting).
2. Sell your own product or service through an internet product launch – short window of sales/large revenue
3. Sell somebody else’s product or service – Affiliate Marketing
4. Sell somebody else’s product and business opportunity – Network Marketing
5. Profit through advertising – Google Adsense, private advertisers, etc.
6. Subscription – Monthly or Annual subscription fee for a product, service or online community.
7. Events – Hold online or offline conferences.
